Day 2 of the OC Tuna Tourney, getting better reports this am…

Well yesterday was an interesting first day, lots of boats catching marlin, and only a handful with tuna! Mostly yellowfins, and one nice bluefin that is currently in the lead. Most boats went north yesterday in search of blue water, and some boats did catch however I would bet today boats are trying other areas and moving south towards poormans or Washington maybe even the Norfolk, I don’t know where they’re fishing but the boat Sushi already has 6 yellowfins in the box this am!! Jeff and crew got 2 mahi and raised 2 whites yesterday, but no love from the tunas, they’re gonna fish their last day tomorrow and get some rest today. For those of you not in the tournament, like we’ve been saying you got a shot in almost any canyon right now, heard Wilmington was slow, I’d just avoid the tourney fleet and hit Poormans or Baltimore, you’ve got as good a shot there as anywhere especially if its not to crowded. Also could be worth poking inside the 100 line and scoping out the meat department and other lumps, could be mahi, wahoo, or even a stray yellowfin in there! Tight lines and stay bent!! We’ll be live again later this evening covering the weigh ins!
