Good weather is on the way!

Today as I type this it is pouring down rain! thunder and lightning the whole nine yards so I’m guessing not many boats fished today, but I know some of the big charter boats have still been fishing and catching Yellowfins and big eye. Capt. Jeff and mate Alex on the Bad Habit have a charter tomorrow and are planning on fishing in the area between the Poormans and the Baltimore, that blue water that was in the Wilmington holding all those fish during the tuna tournament last weekend has made its way south down into the Baltimore canyon and is continuing along that path, so we will be keeping an eye on that. There is also still that big piece of blue water in the Norfolk, I haven’t heard any reports from the Norfolk but based on the SST temps and chlorophyll shot, there’s gotta be some fish in there! Another option as we have been telling you all the last week or so is the inshore bite! The inshore bite is slowly developing and getting better and better, we’ve gotten reports of yellowfins caught from the Hot Dog to Massey’s as well as those bluefin in the mix! I think the inshore lumps to the south would be a good option anywhere in the Deli, Hambone, Chicken Bone, Sausages and the Hot Dog would all be a solid bet, even Jack Spot and Massey's, it’s getting to that point in summer where it should continue to develop and get better and better. If any of you offshore guys enjoy inshore fishing in the bay, the bite at Route 50 bridge has been hot with lots of big chopper bluefish as well as slot sized and over slot striper, which is always a blast! We use artificial like jig heads and paddle tails, but you can also drop live spot for them as well, fishing the tide is key, make sure you are fishing the incoming or outgoing and get there to fish the beginning or end of the tide, that’s when we’ve seen the most action. Good luck to everyone fishing this weekend and tight lines! We’ll report back tomorrow!
