Overcast conditions make for poor shots, but tuna are still biting!

Well it is a beautiful site to see, even though we don’t have a picture perfect eddy to work at the moment, enough of that good water moved in and brought those yellowfins in a little closer. Yellowfin were chewing again today!! We ourselves caught 3 Thursday morning in 3-400 fathoms east of the Washington, then went back out Friday morning for tunas and tiaras to the same numbers, which we also gave to our friends and fellow members Full Service and their crew went out early Friday morning and stuck a nice big eye right on our numbers! When we showed up Friday morning it was slow we did have one mini cover up and one decent 35lb tuna came tight that we killed, but it was slow after that we went another hour or two with no bites ao around 10-1030 one of our members James who also has starlink told me him and his buddy boat were both doubled up if I wasn’t getting bites it might be worth the run, so we picked up and ran up there about 15 miles north of where we were east of the Washington and luckily it worked out we ended up killing 5 yellowfins total and had a ton of bites that just never came tight, one really big good bite that screamed drag off the 80 but unfortunately our main line broke, it may have chaffed on the tip or got wrapped when it popped out of the clip on the rigger, either way an awesome day of fishing and action but the fish seem spread out and the bite was very sporadic. Only a few little tuna birds here and there picking but usually when we saw the birds a bite was coming, but we have received reports over the last two days of people catching yellowfins and bigeyes from south of the Baltimore all the way to south of the Washington and almost everywhere in between, mostly deep though 200 fathoms or deeper as deep as 800-1000 for some of the big eye bites. Hopefully we can get some better shots here soon when weather improves, in the meantime I still like the Washington it’s a safe bet its known to hold fish and whales, or south of the poormans those two areas were in the reports the most, and you can see it in the app as well! Hope you all are enjoying the app and getting familiar with how to use it! Tight lines and stay bent!
