High Winds and Rough Seas

6/27/2024

High winds and rough seas again today, but tomorrow is shaping up nice! Looking like a beautiful day to head offshore. We’ll be heading off early tomorrow morning and headed out just south of the Poormans. The water is moving around quite a bit and as the wind and weather passed by it has mixed things up, but that band of blue water is still in the same general area as previously reported stretching from east of the Wilmington ending down outside the Washington. SST Shots are showing good temperature breaks in the Baltimore, Poorman’s and Washington, any of those canyons would be a great starting point.

Once you decide on a canyon or area of water you want to work, look for the blue water and any signs of life, you may need to troll east into deeper water to find the blue water, pay close attention to significant temperature breaks. The birds have been helpful this year don’t ignore them.

Be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of fishing is that water is going to continue to change and the fish will move around, and your skills as a captain and angler will grow as you chase them around. We all have tough days of fishing but sometimes that’s when you learn the most, and those are the days when we are forced to think outside the box or try something different!
