Bluefins still around deep, yellows mixed in, but deep..
I’m sure most of you have been seeing Bluefins and even a few yellowfins being caught! A great sign to see, finally! However don’t be fooled, these boats are going well out past the canyons to find the water, and good temp break, out past 1000 fathoms, that warm water and hard break is still out in 7-9,000 fathoms, if you are willing to make that run I’m sure the fishing is lights out! Primary Search had as many bluefin as they wanted in around 1000-3000 fathoms east of the Baltimore and Poormans. I haven’t confirmed exactly where the yellowfin were caught but if I had to guess Id say that same piece of good water east of the Wilmington and Baltimore is most likely where they were caught, it’s really the only good water with a hard temp break, that is somewhat within reach (depending on the boat/fuel capacity) from OC or IR. There is also a nice filament out east of the Washington and Norfolk but we’d like to see some of those pieces break off and separate completely from the Gulf Stream and slide west in towards the 100 line, that’s when it will be go time for us! Hopefully we will see that happen over the next 4-6 days. You know we’ll be keeping an eye on it! Tight lines and stay bent!
