First big eye caught, eddy could push in….

Congrats to Capt. Chris Huk on the Restless Lady 2 he got the first big eye of the year today, he seems to have a good relationship with the big eye tunas lol pretty work! Man that eddy looks so good and is full of life, we are getting reports of birds and schools of yellowfin chasing bait skippies, mackerel, some other smaller fish, but the boats who were in the right areas of the eddy did the best a couple people struggled or got a morning bite and got one or two and then didn’t get any more opportunities, it’s tough when your that far out there and only have so much fuel and time, that’s why we got the helm link system and can use apps and software to check SST and Chlorophyll shots etc. and soon we’ll have our own app we’ll be testing and you all will get to try out! This image was just so crisp and I truly think you wanna be on those hard breaks and edges near where I have the distance circle or the southern piece but again that’s a long haul depending where your leaving from you have to strategically pick a piece of water you can make it to and work and troll etc. and the other thing is that water is moving around so fast out there, one minute its one shape and the warm water or break is here then 2 hours later you go back to where you marked the break or got a bite and all the sudden its 64 degrees now and not 69-70 anymore, so the waters moving you just gotta find that hard break and look for the life look for the birds, use your radar if you can to look for birds further out then spot em with binoculars, that’s what we do and you’d be surprised how often it leads to bites or fish! For everyone waiting being patient or simply don’t have the fuel capacity to make it, don’t worry it looks like it could possibly push inshore to the west between this storm system coming up from the south and then some easterly winds forecasted too, it could all line up perfectly! We’ll update the report if we see any significant change but for now its still the long haul for yellowfin. the Bluefin are stacked up in the Baltimore and are always a good time, some boats are choosing to do that instead but you can only kill one then its catch and release, still fun fishing though! You guys should all be familiar with how to catch the bluefin by now after this past winter haha if you’ve been a member that long we gave a ton of info on the bluefins this winter but now we are in yellowfin/big eye mode!! Tight lines and stay bent!
