Blue water in poormans
We’re half way through the MA500 and we have seen several marlin weighed in as well as a few tuna, and it looks like we may have some decent conditions coming this weekend. Looking at the water in the canyons we don’t have to much happening at the moment as far as distinct eddies forming however there is one eddy just south of the Norfolk we are keeping an eye on and a big push of salty water that has created a couple nice salinity edges in both the Washington and Norfolk, could be worth trying for anyone fishing down to the south! However chlorophyll shots are showing the bluest water in the Baltimore and Poormans, which I believe is the same water that was in the Spencer and Wilmington. It should continue to move south, especially after yesterdays North-West wind. Currently taking everything into consideration, I’d say the best odd’s at the moment would be south side of the Baltimore or the Poorman’s, start on the 100 line and work east, look for life, breaks in temperature or changes in water color. Inshore there is a small piece of blue water just inshore of the Poormans, the Rock Pile (37° 39.210’ 74° 21.720’), 29 Fathom Lumps (37° 44.060’ 74° 35.520’) or the Parking Lot would all be a great place to try! We also saw lots of life near the Hot Dog on our last trip! Good luck and Tight Lines!
