Slow bite yesterday, but two big eyes caught this am!
Well we went out yesterday super early for a big eye, it was slick calm and beautiful, but the fishing was slower than we’d hoped for, we went right to the doorman’s as we had fresh intel from our buddy Remo who got 6 yellowfins there Wednesday evening, we actually passed him coming in around 1130pm as we were headed out lol but we ended up going 3 for 3 on yellowfins, all single random bites, no cover ups, quite a few birds around but just a slow bite, maybe the slick calm conditions, lots of boats said it was slow compared to recent fishing. However this morning our buddies on the Full Service ran out and stuck two nice big eyes!! The season is just starting to heat up and based off what we’re seeing it could be a great summer of fishing! If your headed out soon poorman’s is still a great spot to start, some guys are starting to work the Baltimore canyon as well with blue water pushing into it, even a few reports from as far north as the Wilmington. The inshore water is hot now as high as 80-82 degrees in some spots like Winter Quarter, we’ve had multiple people tell us the bluefins are loaded up on the lumps inside the 100 line like the meat department or masseys etc. so quite a few options out there! Tight lines and stay bent!!
