Yellowfin continue to chew, big eye bite heating up? Cobia too…

Well we are already hearing of boats out this morning 6/25/25 that are tearing up the yellowfins! Boats are still getting into em around the 461 and south poormans, as well as down around the Washington canyon. We also have been watching a big piece of blue water pushing into the north in the Wilmington and Baltimore canyons, and had a couple reports of yellowfins and big eye caught further north. Jeff poked out on the insanely calm day yesterday with his family for a little while midday yesterday and was able to pick off a single yellowfin as well as a nice mahi, he had his wife parents and kids so they weren’t fishing super hard but nice to come home with some meat! My cousin also took advantage of slick calm conditions and took his son out to winter quarter where they found cobia stacked up! Unfortunately the chlorophyll inshore is still thick which makes visibility about 3’ so is difficult to spot them unless they’re up on top, but nice to know they’re here! They also spotted some big red drum as well! We are planning on heading out tomorrow, or late tonight, we may leave early like 1-2am and try for a big eye at sunrise, not sure yet but thinking we may try starting further north like the Baltimore and then troll/work south towards the Poorman’s but we are gonna see how the sat shots look today, and how are app is showing both commercial fishing vessels as well as our hot spot prediction map, and see if it is pointing us towards a certain area of water! Based off everything we see combined with reports we’re receiving Washington and South Poormans still seems to be the hot spot for yellowfins, 200-400 fathoms, ballyhoo, spreader bars, squid chains, the usual, we did have s few guys running nomads who also caught! We will post another update later this afternoon/evening if we see anything worth mentioning on todays SAT shots! Tight lines and stay bent!!
